PINE VIEW FARMS

(Invitation Only Filly) Debbi Trubee, who is the general manager along with Roger Landis of Pine View Farms talks about how their breeding operation is set up. “We have two stalls with foaling cameras and we stream our cameras to the Internet via Marestare.com,” Debbi explains. “We can watch the mares from any computer, so, I can have different people watching and then call us when something is up. We also have a night watchman this time of year that walks the barn every 1/2 hour to check on the mares that are coming up to foal.”

There has already been a little drama this year during their foaling season. “Last night we had two dripping milk and ready to pop and we lost all our power,” Trubee told GoHorseShow.com. “Roger scrambled to hook up a generator so we had the lights on the in foaling stalls and then ran another power line to the computer that sends the feed to the Internet. Always something to keep it exciting!”

Debbi proudly reports that, “Lazy Loper’s breeding season is going to be crazy busy again this year. The early contracts in are already 3 times what I had in same time frame for last year! Invy’s (Invitation Only) doing great and Winnies Willy has made us proud with his first baby being everything we had hoped.” (pictured left–new Lazy Loper filly)

COOPER QUARTER HORSES AND STALLION STATION

Owner and breeding manager Clarice Cooper, said that there have been two foals born on the farm so far and nine more due before the end of the month. The sorrel filly is out of a daughter of Sudden Impulse and by Dont Skip Zip. The bay filly is out of a daughter of Blazing Hot who is the full sibling to several buckskin world champions and the sire is Dont Skip ZIp.

So far all are fillies which makes Ryan and I happy,” Cooper reports. “We love our girls! We are lucky that we are on over 500 acres so when the mares foal out they each get their own private paddock to call home, and we leave them in it until we get them bred back. That way we can monitor the mares and foals closely in their first couple of days. Then, they are moved to a 40 acre pasture. Both of these little girls love attention and are very curious.”

“This is our first and best year at breeding our wonderful mares Cool Krymsun Lady and Radically Fired Up,” Susan said.

“We have already gotten two stud colts our of Cool Krymsun Lady x Blazing Hot and we have three more foals on the way. Our first colt by Cool Krymsun Lady was born on Jan 18, 2011 and the second one (with white markings) on Jan 22, 2011. We feel privileged to be a part of these wonderful and beautiful mares and facilitate the next generation of great American Quarter Horses.”
