“I will miss my very good friend Ken Pautzke. He passed away last night after a long hard battle,” Gale Little posted on her Facebook page. “He was such a fighter and an inspiration to me. I always told him that I wanted to be just like him when I grow up. He was always positive and happy and the glass was always half full! Rest in peace, and I am proud to say, my friend.”

In early April 2011, Ken Pautzke was diagnosed with Myelodeplastic Sydromone (MDS), a blood cancer. Ken’s bone marrow no longer made blood, resulting in numerous transfusions.

Ken’s contributions to the industry are numerous; AQHA National Director; Honorary AQHA Vice President; AQHA Ring Steward for the AQHA World, Amateur World, Select World shows, Red Bud, and Florida Gulf Coast circuits; AQHA Amateur Committee, served as Chairman from 2006-2009; Amateur Compliance Committee, serving on several Task Force Committees, AQHA Hall of Fame Selection committee; AQHA Steward; Past President of the MN Quarter Horse Association; One of the founding members of the MNQHA Corporate Challenge and serving as Chairman for 9 years there; and a member of AQHA’s Professional Horsemen.

GoHorseShow will update you on funeral arrangements when we find out more information. We would like to send condolences to his family and friends.
