WCHA Members –
While we have been very successful since our formation almost five years ago—we all know there is always room for improvement as well as the need to plan ahead. With that in mind, several of your EC Members and Board of Directors will be meeting on Thursday, March 8th in advance of the AQHA Convention to do some Strategic Planning. The session will be led by Bruce Anderson, Consultant with an Equine Specialty. Bruce has many years of relevant Business Experience as well as has assisted with programs and sessions such as ours for AQHA, NCHA and various Racing organizations. He brings a wealth of experience and I am sure can assist us as ‘start-up organization’ immensely.
We have outlined an agenda for the day, which the EC and Board of Directors collectively feels meets our Strategic as well as Near-term needs. However, we want your input! Any good Strategic Plan can only focus on 4-5 key areas. Tell us if we are on the right track. If not, make suggestions, if we are, and you have specifics for each area of focus you would like to share we want those also—(“how” we do something is as important as “what” we do to meet the Organization/Member needs). We will have a full day and lots to do, with much follow-up I am sure, but we are committed to trying to make a positive difference with your input I know we can do just that!
As important, if you would like to Volunteer to play a role in a Committee, now is also a good time to submit your interest and tell us where you think you would like to Volunteer. We have the Sponsorship and Fundraising Committees, Judges Committee, Membership Committee, Breeders Championship Futurity Committee, Governance Committee, Finance Committee, Standard Committee, need for Communication resources and you can probably think of more. So tell us about your interests. It takes more than the EC and Board of Directors to build an on-going successful organization.

We will keep volunteer information and forward your Strategic Plan input to Bruce Anderson, who has committed to read and capture everything submitted for our session on the 8th! Now is your opportunity to provide valuable input—please respond!
