Adequan Select World Deadline Approaching

Qualified Select amateurs looking to vie for world championships, Intermediate and AQHA Super-Select awards must submit their entries to the AQHA office no later than August 1. For the 10th year of the Adequan Select World Championship Show, AQHA is rolling out the red carpet and awarding new prizes to make the August 24 – September 1 show a grand affair.

Qualified Select amateurs looking to vie for world championships, Intermediate and AQHA Super-Select awards must submit their entries to the AQHA office no later than August 1.

In May, AQHA announced a brand-new prize: the Super-Select award. The top three 70-&-over competitors in each class at the Adequan Select World will receive a Super-Select award, designed by AQHA’s new trophy company, Awards Recognition Concepts. This achievement will also appear on the official records of the horse and exhibitor.

When competitors arrive in Amarillo for the Adequan Select World, they’ll find a vast array of facility improvements waiting for them at the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds.

The many facility improvements to the Tri-State Fairgrounds include a brand-new base and footing installed by Kiser Arena Specialists – the same experts who install and maintain the ground for the AQHA World Championship Show – in the Bill Cody Arena. Exhibitors will also find brand-new concessions stands and restrooms in the Bill Cody Arena. And there’s even more riding room, with a 50-by-100-foot addition to the outdoor covered arena.

“Hosting the Adequan Select World in Amarillo, home of AQHA headquarters, means the world to both AQHA and the city of Amarillo,” said Tom Persechino, AQHA executive director of competition and breed integrity. “AQHA employees and the city of Amarillo staff have been working all year long to make the 10th edition of the Adequan Select World the most memorable year of the event for the competitors and their friends and family.”

Those memories start when competitors pull into the parking lot with their trailers. Beginning 10 years ago, the Association rolled out the AQHA red carpet by scheduling AQHA employees to help exhibitors unload their trailers and move into their stalls at the show. That act was dubbed “Horsepitality,” an AQHA exclusive for Select exhibitors.

With Horsepitality, employees from the main office, many of whom work in registration or customer service, volunteer their time at the fairgrounds, driving carts, checking names off lists, delivering water bottles and doing their best to make sure all the exhibitors have a good time, no matter how they end up placing in the show.

Qualified Select amateur exhibitors have received their entry forms in the mail with their qualifier packet. The entry form for weanling halter at the Adequan Select World is available for download. All entries are due in the AQHA office no later than August 1.

The Pinnacle Event

The Adequan Select World is the world’s largest, single-breed championship horse show open exclusively to 50-&-over amateur exhibitors. This is the pinnacle event for Select amateur competitors around the world who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to secure a spot in each of the classes, representing English, over fences, western, speed, cattle and halter events.

Adequan is a proud sponsor of the Adequan Select World. Adequan is the official equine joint therapy of AQHA. When you choose a joint therapy for your horses, choose Adequan.
