2013 Dixie National Horse Show Wrap Up

In case you missed our 2013 Dixie National Quarter Horse Show and haven’t heard the news via Facebook or GoHorseshow.com, let us officially inform you on what you missed at The Southern Classic!

Our show actually started on February 5th, with our Dixie National Quarter Horse Equestrians with Disabilities Show. With 50 AQHA entries and almost 100 open entries it was HUGE but still inspiring enough that at the end of the long day volunteers were already signing up for next year’s event!

Our regular show held the 11th through the 17th was a huge success! Growing 15% from 2012, not only was our show bigger with over 2,300 entries for each judge (9200 total), but also our Equine Expo with over 100 vendors had record-breaking sales! We love our exhibitors, vendors and patrons and love that they return year after year to the Dixie National Quarter Horse Show aka The Southern Classic to get their show season started!

Thanks to our major sponsors we had supporting us, we were able to have added money to many of our classes that attracted exhibitors from all over the country. We’re hoping to ensure even more added money next year with our evolving sponsor program that will offer some new packages to potential sponsors. For more info on sponsorship opportunities call Tommy Lee Andrus at (662) 207-9358.

With our new Dixie National Quarter Horse logo Top Notch Embroidery sold out of the Dixie National jackets! Be sure to get yours early next year!

The Southern Classic Horse Sale hosted by Wayne Boyd of West Kentucky Horse Sale, Inc. presented to a packed house of buyers and spectators 82 registered horses and mules.

Our Merial/DeltAg Freestyle Reining was electrifying as usual as 12 talented reiners slid and spun to the boundless applause of thousands who came. The massive crowd received a bonus with the performance of rising country star Templeton Thompson and the official announcement of her break through video on CMT.com.

As we continue to be one of the largest Quarter Horse Shows in the country in our 48th year (ranked 5th in 2012) and the largest held in conjunction with a Livestock Show, we hope you’ll make plans to join us in 2014! To see all the photos from the show please visit www.shaneruxphoto.com.
