The 2013 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show national qualifying deadline has been extended. The deadline, previously set for April 30, has been extended to May 27.
In the transitional period to the launch of the new AQHA database, delays occurred in the processing of 2013 show results.
Since March 5, when the new database went live, AQHA staff and the information technology consultants found the new system was not performing up to either party’s level of expectation. Effective April 3, AQHA decided to not continue moving forward with the database upgrade at this time.
“Due to these unique circumstances and considering youth exhibitors have not been able to verify points for shows conducted after December 31, AQHA’s Show Council recommended, and the AQHA Executive Committee approved, extending the qualifying period for this year’s Ford Youth World through Memorial Day, or May 27,” said Tom Persechino, AQHA executive director of competition and breed integrity. “The extension should give youth exhibitors ample time to ensure they are qualified.”
Points earned from May 1-27 will count for national qualification to both the 2013 and 2014 Ford Youth World shows.
AQHA will start sending invitations to youth who had nationally qualified through December 31, so exhibitors can begin getting their entries to their state youth advisers and ultimately to AQHA for processing. Youth who nationally qualified after December 31 will receive their invitations later, but will still have plenty of time to send their entries to state youth advisers and to AQHA.
Changes in state qualifying are subject to each state affiliate’s decision. Please contact your youth director for details.
