AQHYA is now accepting nominations from this year’s Ford Youth World exhibitors to compete in the Showmanship Freestyle Exhibition sponsored by Tommy Sheets on August 6 and the Horsemanship Freestyle Exhibition sponsored by Patty Vatterott on August 7.
Exhibitors will dress up and perform showmanship and horsemanship maneuvers to music they select. A panel of secret celebrity judges will score the competition.
A total of 22 exhibitors, two from each region, will be selected to compete in each of the exhibitions. Nominations are due by July 1. Nominees will pay a $5 fee to participate in the Showmanship Freestyle Exhibition drawing and a $5 fee to participate in the Horsemanship Freestyle Exhibition. If drawn to compete, a $70 entry fee will be required. The drawing will be held on July 5 and all participants will be notified by July 15.

If you enter both freestyle exhibitions, fill out two nomination forms and make two nomination payments. Forms can also be faxed to (806) 349-6412 or emailed to [email protected]. Nomination forms and fees must be received no later than July 1.
All participants must be members of AQHYA and an exhibitor at this year’s Ford Youth World.
Half of the proceeds of the freestyle exhibition will benefit AQHYA’s new community service project, which will be announced at the 2013 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar June 20-22 in Amarillo.
Each of the exhibitors will receive an AQHA portfolio. The top 10 exhibitors will receive ribbons. The top three finishers will receive AQHA merchandise and a gift card for a pair of Wrangler jeans. The top exhibitor in each exhibition will receive a specially designed award by AQHA’s Awards Recognition Concepts.
Additional spirit points will be given to AQHYA affiliates that come to the freestyle exhibition and support their teammates.
