Bailey Mierzejewski Wins Reserve World Championship in Trail

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Incoming South Carolina freshman Bailey Mierzejewski won the Reserve World Championship in trail on Wednesday at the Built Ford Tough American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show in Oklahoma City.

Mierzejewski, showing, Some Hot Potential, finished second out of 157 competitors.

Mierzejewski’s Reserve World Championship comes one day after rising sophomore, Abigail Pait, clinched a pair of Top-10 finishes at the AQHYA World Show. Pait finished 8th in showmanship out of 176 entries on Tuesday, while also earning a 10th place finish in horsemanship out of 175 entries.

The Built Ford Tough American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse exhibitors, ages 18 and under, around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. More than 2,300 entries from the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Venezuela are competing for 35 world championships at this year’s event, August 2-10 in Oklahoma City.
