No. 8 TCU Takes Down Delaware State Friday, 7-1

FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 8 TCU dominated Delaware State Friday at John Justin Arena, claiming a 7-1 decision underneath the bright lights of the Fort Worth Stock Show.

The Horned Frogs, who are 5-3 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play, moved to 3-1 all-time inside John Justin Arena. On Friday, TCU cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory in Reining as several student-athletes shined and just missed sweeping Horsemanship, posting a 4-1 victory in the discipline. The Horned Frogs garnered both MOP accolades on the night with Calli Rouse picking up honors in Horsemanship and sophomore Shelby St. Hilaire claiming her first MOP of her career as a Horned Frog in Reining.

In Horsemanship, Rouse got the Frogs going, recording a 75.5-73.5 victory over Brooke Moore. With the win, Rouse posted her second MOP of the year and moved to 5-3 on the season. Colby Plott and Megan McMullen were also successful, garnering wins over Alaina Halter and Cailynn Fedorkowicz, respectively. Rylee Morgan rounded out the Purple and White’s notables in Horsemanship, scoring a 72-71.5 decision over Abigail Buckwalter.

Brooke Boyle was also victorious, defeating Alexis Gratkowski, while St. Hilaire stold the show, upending Kali Voshell, 74.5-70.5, which was the highest score of the night in Reining. Finally, Katelyn Gray and Chantz Stewart appeared to have scored a point for the Purple and White, but both ended up scoring draws against Buckwalter and Tayler Scuse, respectively.
