Non-Profit Ranch for Teen Boys Launches Funding Campaign

BELGRADE, Mont., — Gallant Chance Ranch, a Belgrade based 501(c)3 organization, has just kicked off its RocketHub.com crowd funding campaign.

Gallant Chance Ranch (GCR) was created in the mind and heart of a 13-year-old girl as a simple idea – horses can keep kids out of trouble, teach them responsibility, and show them love. In the summer of 2013 GCR became a reality when it started a pilot program introducing five boys from Bozeman Youth Probation to “horses and hard work”. We received very positive feedback from the Probation Office as well as the parents.

“The boys can genuinely be who they really are. Horses keep boys out of trouble, teach them responsibility and show them love, that’s really the crux of what we’re doing,” said Gallant Chance Ranch Director of Operations, Jon Goff. “We have over 280,000 targets for our launch this afternoon. Our social media network and friends have committed to helping us spread the word, which is extremely encouraging and speaks volumes to the support there is for a program like the Ranch.”

Established as a 501(C)(3) in 2011, GCR works with teens from Gallatin County Youth Probation and from local foster care/group homes to help them become a success rather than a grim statistic. In our work-to-ride program teens start by working on the GCR property to earn credits towards riding trips and other special activities. As they gain skills and confidence they transition into supervised work projects for ranchers which may include overnights and a higher degree of responsibility and opportunity for those boys who have earned it. Their next step is to move into part-time work as an apprentice where they can learn additional skills until they are prepared to move into full time employment or higher education.

Gallant Chance Ranch, having run its first pilot program in the Summer of 2013, currently serves teenage boys in Gallatin County but aims to build a sustainable and replicable model that would expand to multiple locations.

The RocketHub.com campaign will run for 90-days, ending on September 21st. The campaign’s goal is to reach $60,000 by that date.

As an organization that is fully supported by private funding, we would not be able to offer the necessary support to these boys without the kindness and generosity of our supporters. Please consider joining our cause today and help change the life of a teen! Gallant Chance Ranch is a registered 501(c)(3) so your donation is fully tax deductible.
