It was a colorful day for champions at the Color Breed Congress at the Built Ford Tough Complex at Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, and NSBA exhibitors were an active part of the competition.“We’re expecting to have about 3,500 entries total during the show,” said Darrell Bilke, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Pinto Horse Association, host of the Color Breed Congress. “As of right now, we’ve had 366 NSBA entries go through the arena.” The Way To Go visited with some of Wednesday’s winners.
Color Breed Congress Puts the Color in Pleasure
It was Western Pleasure day at the Color Breed Congress on Friday at the Built Ford Tough Complex at Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Western Pleasure and Trail competition took place for Appaloosa, Buckskin, Palomino and Pinto horses and exhibitors and included a number of NSBA competitors. The Way To Go visited with some of the day’s champions.
In the PHBA/NSBA Junior Western Pleasure, Scott Rystrom and Decks Impulse won the NSBA bronze and reserve champion in the PHBA portion of the class for owner Sabra Schmidt.
“This is her second time to show today,” Rystrom said of the mare known as Farrah. “This probably wasn’t her best go, but it was pretty good. We had a very good group of horses today.”
