About the Cover

Debbi Trubee of North Farm in North Lawrence, Ohio, said it was another fantastic year for the Makin Me Willy Wild (Geoffrey) offspring. The 2015 black stallion by Winnies Willy and out of Wildly Available is already a multiple World Champion & Congress Champion Sire.

“While some stallions and mares never re-produce themselves, we’ve been very blessed that Geoffrey is stamping his foals with his upright build, self-carriage, and correct conformation,” Trubee states. “We are looking forward to his babies coming of age and moving into the all-around events. Those classes have really become the backbone of our industry, and I do think his foals will excel in those classes.”

Trubee continues, “His winners have come from a large variety of bloodlines, so he appears to be crossing on a very large cross-section of families. His foals are very user-friendly and naturally gifted in movement, so the non-pro segment of our industry has really been enthusiastic about his foals.”

In 2018, when Geoffrey was home for a rest after his two-year-old year, he had two test foals. His most accomplished offspring so far was one of those foals. Makin Me Happy is a multiple Congress, NSBA and AQHA World Champion in the Amateur Hunter Under Saddle and Amateur Performance Halter Geldings. This talented gelding is owned by Amateur exhibitor Angela Fox and is currently starting to learn and excel in the pattern classes.

Makin Me Willy Wild’s first set of winners started in the Longe Line events in 2021, winning at every major futurity. His foals have gone on to be named Congress or World Champions in the Western Longe Line events, Congress Western Pleasure Champions, and several Hunter Under Saddle Championships.

Proud owners, Debbi Trubee and Roger Landis bred and raised Geoffrey. As a yearling, they knew he was something special. When Roger brought Geoffrey up his yearling year to start preparing him for sale, Debbi said that Roger called her after the first day he worked him and said, “We’re keeping this one!”

Debbi continues, “We have never kept anything we’ve raised, they are all for sale at some point. We made the decision that day that, win, lose or draw, he was staying. His movement and conformation weren’t the only reasons, he was the kindest horse and we loved him for that. He has paid us back in spades. His legacy is just beginning, and we are proud to be a part of his journey.”

Makin Me Willy Wild is fully booked for 2024. Contact Debbi Trubee for more information regarding prospects currently available at (740) 815-3545.
