AQHA All-Around Amateur Crowned

During the past three weeks, the top exhibitors and horses competed at the 2021 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); Adequan® Level 2 Championships; and Nutrena Level 1 Championships. The show runs through November 20 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The 2021 AQHA All-Around Amateur Award is presented to the exhibitor and horse team that earns the most points in three or more Level 3 amateur events in three categories during the show.

The 2021 AQHA All-Around Amateur is Morgan Ratkowski of Pleasant View, Tennessee, who showed her American Quarter Horse, Better Buy The Minit. The 2005 bay gelding by Do You Have A Minute and out of Tickle My Asset, was bred by Kramer/Davis of Reddick, Florida. Ratkowski and Better Buy The Minit earned 57 points in the all-around amateur competition. The team earned the amateur world champion titles in working hunter, hunter hack, and equitation over fences and the reserve world champion title in amateur hunt seat equitation.

The All-Around Amateur received $10,000 and a Lisa Perry Bronze.

The Reserve All-Around Amateur is Angela Wade of Wellington, Florida, who showed her American Quarter Horse, A Soxy Dream. The 2013 sorrel mare by A Dream Remembered and out of Roxie Soxy, was bred by Robbie and Janice Free from Bradford, Arkansas. Wade and A Soxy Dream earned 37 points. They earned the world champion title in amateur trail and placed fifth in amateur western riding and amateur horsemanship. The pair were also finalists in amateur performance halter mares.

The Reserve All-Around Amateur received $5,000 and a silver cup.

Placing third is Mallory Vroegh of Grimes, Iowa, who showed the American Quarter Horse Ill B Batting Ona RV, owned by Shannon Walker from Grimes, Iowa. The 2016 bay mare by Batt Man and out of Ill Be Dun Won It, was bred by Vickie Kent of Graceville, Florida. Vroegh and Ill B Batting Ona RV earned 34 points. They earned the world championship title in amateur showmanship, sixth in amateur performance halter mares and eighth in amateur trail.

Placing fourth is Natalia Kay DeVencenty of Pueblo, Colorado, who showed her American Quarter Horse, Moonlite Madnez. The 2014 brown gelding by Only In The Moonlite and out of Chex So Good, was bred by Kenneth and Lisa Elam of Gallatin, Tennessee. DeVencenty and Moonlite Madnez earned 30 points. The team earned the world champion title in amateur horsemanship, were third in amateur western riding and finalists in amateur aged geldings.

Placing fifth is Kaleena Weakly of Shelbyville, Illinois, who showed her American Quarter Horse, Definately A First. The 2009 chestnut gelding by Indefinate and out of Im Your Cue was bred by 7-Bar of Marble Falls, Texas. Weakly and Definately A First earned 17 points. They earned the reserve world champion title in amateur showmanship. The pair were also finalists in amateur aged geldings.

The third- through fifth-place All-Around Amateur finalists received $1,500.
