Legendary Paint Horse Brokers Lucky Kid Passes at 19

GoHorseShow is heartbroken to report the passing of well-loved multiple APHA World Champion Brokers Lucky Kid or “Denver” as he was lovingly known. He was 19 years-old and owned by the Preston family of Kent, Washington.

“Denver is a people pleaser,” Mackenzie Preston told us in 2015 when they were featured on the cover of the June issue of GoMag. “He is egotistical, comical, charming, outgoing, opinionated, and you can’t help but smile every time you’re around him.”

Denver had complications associated with colic surgery that unfortunately could not be overcome.

From Breann Preston’s Facebook PageAt the end of a chapter it’s common to ask, if you had a chance to go back would you do it all again, knowing how it ends. I would without a doubt always choose our time together, even knowing that my heart is broken without you. I would give anything for one more ride, one more day, or another hour. Denver you were the most amazing partner, horse, and treat eater there has even been. You made me a better person and impacted so many. May you buck and snort your way into the greenest pastures on the other side.

GoHorseShow has put together a slideshow of Denver through the years. We have never seen so many pictures of one horse posted on social media. He was definitely loved.
