Jackson, MS – All the ribbons are packed up and the exhibitors and staff are back home. The Dixie National Quarter Horse Show is a wrap. The show started on February 7 & 8 with the Equestrian With Disabilities events. All of the participants had a great time, and a lot of new friends were made. We are grateful to our sponsors, volunteers and exhibitors who made this portion of our show a success.

The Dixie National AQHA event began on Tuesday February 14th with roping, Cow Horse and Boxing continuing with large numbers. $10,000 was on the line along with great prizes.

Our fifth CC Dubois Memorial Tie Down Roping was held, sponsored by Elite Custom Saddlery generously donated custom halters and portfolios to the winners of every roping class at the horse show. This is the fifth year in which Elite Custom Saddles has donated the Andrew McBeath Memorial High Point Cattle Horse saddle, which was awarded to Casey Hicks and CFR Decada 052 owned by Jared Crain.

Friday was our day for showmanship and English classes.

This year, Saturday included our grandparents favorites- leadline and stick horse race were held. We had many new leadline exhibitors and stick horse exhibitors were very lively which made for a fun class.es. Our Stick Horse class sponsor, Tom McBeath Quarter Horses, donated the stick horses and every exhibitor got to take their horse home. We also had our halter and western pleasure classes on Saturday.

Saturday night we were fortunate to have Tim Kimura, M.O.T. with us and he conduced a “Ride the Pattern” clinic which received rave reviews. The clinic was followed by paid trail practice.

We concluded on Sunday with a day of trail. All trail courses were written, prepared and maintained by the M.O.T. Tim Kimura.
