About the Congress

The All American Quarter Horse Congress was founded on three basic horsemen desires: to compete, socialize, and learn more about working with horses. The first Quarter Horse Congress was held November 3, 4, and 5, 1967, at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio, attracting more than 4,000 paid registrations.

Since then, the Quarter Horse Congress has added 23 days worth of competition and fun to the event, hosts the largest National Youth Team Tournament in the world, and has grown into the largest single-breed horse show in the world. There are over 24,500 horse show entries. The show attracts more than 650,000 people to the Columbus area, and it generates $382 million for the central Ohio economy. In addition, over $3 million is given away in cash and prizes, including trucks, trailers, trophy saddles, sterling silver buckles, and the coveted Don Bell bronze trophies.
