About the Cover

Ann Woodruff of Round Meadow Ranch is featured on the August cover of GoMag with three of her horses. The beautiful and patient bay is Made After Hours. “Vivy” is by Machine Made and out of Only Ever After. Ann and Vivy continue to hone their bond as a team as they show in Novice Amateur Pleasure classes. This year, they will be showing at the NSBA in Novice Amateur classes, and Adam Mathis will show her in the intermediate maturity.

The smart and treat-loving grey is Goodbar Had A Dream. “Avery” is by A Dream Remembered and out of Good Hearted Misty. Avery and Ann’s daughter Lillian Woodruff were the 2020 AQHYA World Show L2 Showmanship Champions. They will be competing in the CINCH Invitational Horsemanship at this year’s NSBA World Show. Ann will ride Avery in Novice Amateur Trail, and Clint Ainsworth will show him in Senior Trail.

The handsome and extremely talented paint is Gametime Sensation. “Doc” is by Zippos Sensation and out of Flash N Her Lace. Lillian and Doc have had a dream partnership. Lillian ends her youth career with highlights including being ranked second overall in the 14-18 Top 20 in 2018, as well as multiple APHA honor rolls, zone champions, and world and reserve world championships. Ann has started working with Doc and is excited about their future together.

Ann and Lilli are under the guidance of Clint Ainsworth. “Lillian has become a more refined equestrian while training with Clint,” Ann says. “He is extremely talented and an incredible trainer who has supported us from day one.” Woodruff is excited to be working with Clint. In addition, Ainsworth is training some of their other horses including Sleepinwithmybootson, and the newest RMR member, Dunit On The Range, whom both Ann and Clint will show.

Woodruff also trains with Adam and Pasley Mathis. She believes this talented couple is the perfect team for success. They train and show the Round Meadow Ranch futurity and maturity horses. They were instrumental in not only acquiring Vivy, but also getting Ann back into the show pen. “Honestly, I wish I started showing earlier with Lillian,” says Ann. “While we have many treasured memories, this new adventure is a blast having her by my side.”

Lillian is in her final youth year. She has truly had a wonderful experience with the horses she has ridden, the trainers she has worked with, and the memories of being a successful youth rider. She has exceeded the goals that she once wished for when she was a little girl and a beginner equestrian.

Anns dreams and goals are coming true, too. After decades of not formally riding and now jumping right in, she is working hard training for specific classes with different horses. She is proud of her hard work and surprised at her success as an older rider, enjoying every minute of this new chapter. “At my age, success is giving it your all and not just the prize – thats a bonus!”

Best of luck to everyone at this year’s NSBA World Show and thanks to all of our advertisers and readers for making this the biggest and best August issue of GoMag yet!
