With the winter weather issues, the only part of the Dixie National that was held was the 32nd annual Mary Hopkins Memorial Dixie Nationals Equestrians With Disabilities horse show.
It took place February 9 and 10 at the “Mac Haik” Kirk Fordice Equine Center on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds. The EWD Show was a booming success and was our largest event ever. We had exhibitors from Illinois, North Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi.
The Mary Hopkins Memorial Dixie National EWD Show is one of largest event of its kind in the country and it is FREE to exhibitors. We offered 4 sets of AQHA, NSBA & PHBA. This event is sponsored by the Mississippi Quarter Horse Youth Association in that they pay for the entire event. That’s right, the Mississippi Quarter Horse Youth Association pays entry fees to the 3 associations as well as stalls. The show is run solely by volunteers.
The judges, ring stewards, show manager, show secretary, announcers, awards presenters, photographer, and all other personnel necessary for running this event all graciously donated their time and services.
