To protect the health and safety of attendees and staff, the 2020 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar is transitioning to a virtual platform.
All American Quarter Horse Youth Association members and non-members, ages 10 to 18, are invited to attend the virtual 2020 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar.
“YES is a highlight for youth from around the world each summer,” said Craig Huffhines, AQHA executive vice president. “Our top priority is the health and safety of attendees and staff; therefore, we’ve made the decision to host a virtual 2020 YES, which will offer valuable leadership skills, inspiring speakers, and address governance items. With so many cancellations that are affecting our youth, due to the worldwide pandemic, we are grateful to have the opportunity to move forward with YES virtually and look forward to hosting a great online event for the next generation of industry leaders.”
The digital content, including online presentations, from the virtual YES, will be available at no cost to viewers. Registration and access information, along with the modified dates and times for this year’s YES, will be released once details are finalized. The most up-to-date information will be shared at www.aqha.com/yes.
Individuals who registered for the seminar prior to this announcement will be automatically refunded their full payment, which can take up to 10 business days from the time the refund is initiated. Please contact the AQHA Youth Department at [email protected] if you do not receive a refund after this time period.
AQHYA Governance
Voting delegates representing AQHYA affiliates will elect the 2020-21 AQHYA officers and directors during the virtual YES. Members from AQHYA’s 11 regions will elect up to three directors to represent their respective regions during the conference.
Elections will take place on a secure platform that will allow delegates to view information on the candidates and submit their votes.
Youth who are interested in running for regional director or officer positions must submit application materials by May 15 to [email protected]. Application information and guidelines can be found in the AQHYA Guide to Campaigning. The Youth Department will communicate with candidates regarding the digital election process.
