Kimes Kandids & Go-To Place for 2019 AQHYA World Championship Show

Exhibitors can participate in fun-filled events taking place at the 2019 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show. American Quarter Horse Youth Association members will be able to compete in a variety of activities throughout the show August 1-10 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.

The AQHYA Horse Judging, speech and art/photo contests are just some of the contests offered. Throughout the show, Ford Youth World teams will also be competing for points in a team-spirit contest.

This is the pinnacle event for youth competitors around the world who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to secure a spot in each of the classes, representing English, western and halter disciplines. The other road to qualifying is for competitors to participate and compete through their state or provincial affiliate.

The Ford Youth World crowns 18-&-under world champions in a large slate of classes, but in 14-18 and 13-&-under, world champions are crowned in the following core classes: western pleasure, hunter under saddle, horsemanship, hunt seat equitation, showmanship, ranch riding and trail.
Events held in conjunction with the Ford Youth World include:

•Adequan® AQHA Level 2 Youth Championships, which are open only to Level 2-eligible youth
who qualify nationally or through their affiliate.

•5D open barrel race with $2,500 added.

•AQHA Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge for Intercollegiate Horse Show Association and
National Collegiate Equestrian Association invitees.

•FEI-style reining team competition.

•AQHA youth high-point presentation.

•AQHYA Horse Judging Contest.

•Team spirit contest.

•College fair.

•Exhibitor party.

Free Ride the Pattern clinics are also taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen during the year’s Ford Youth World. These clinics are sponsored by Nutrena. In addition to Ride the Pattern clinics, exhibitors, friends and family are invited parties and receptions held during the show.
