Terry Bradshaw-Fossil Gate Farms 2019 Sale

Horse buyers from across the United States purchase 74 head of horses at the Production & Prospects Sale presented by Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses with Fossil Gate Farms.

Prospects, three-in-one packages and riding horses went through the sale ring June 29 during the Production & Prospects Sale presented by Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses with Fossil Gate Farms.

In all, 74 head went under the gavel during the sale at Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses in Thackerville, Oklahoma, said Jarrell Jackson, equine manager.

Most were American Quarter Horses with an overall sale average of $8,000.

“Buyers were looking for the three-in-one packages,” Jarrell said, with a mare, a foal and the mare checked back in foal. “Overall, those really worked.”

Futurity-eligible weanlings also sold well, Jarrell said.

“We had people here from all over the country buying horses,” he said.

A stallion preview began the sale-day activities, with Terry introducing each of the stallions standing at his ranch: Extremely Hot Chips, Initials Only, Solaris, Telasecret, Influentual and FG Phenomenal Fella.

A Shorty’s Caboy Hattery hat was auctioned to benefit Shorty’s Rein in Cancer charity. A booth gave away samples of Terry’s new Still Tails insect repellent. Food trucks gave the ranch a festive air, and local 4-H members sold raffle tickets.

“The Bradshaws are adamant that the way to grow the industry is through getting youth involved early,” Jarrell said.

This year is the second that Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses has partnered with Fossil Gate Farms for a production sale. Both are 30-year breeders with AQHA.

Terry and Tammy Bradshaw are also partnered with Linda Gordon of Fossil Gate and Steve and Kathy Headley of Bloomington, Indiana, in a Halter Bonanza at the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show. The group has collectively donated $453,000 to support halter classes through 2020.
