Fossil Gate Farm located in Argyle, Texas is seeking an Assistant.

Applicants MUST have prior horse experience. Applicant MUST be a self-starter and have a passion for working with animals. Must have social skills and skills to work independently with a strong work ethic.
Daily care of horses, includes, but is not limited to: healthcare, turnout, halter breaking, grooming, feeding, keeping the barn clean and organized, and sale-prep. Assistants help with a variety of veterinary procedures, including lab and equipment cleanup, worming, and foaling out broodmares. Other duties assigned as well.
Must be able to work independently or part of a team. Must have good common sense and horse experience. The right candidate will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of horse breeding and will have a chance to advance in responsibility and compensation as skills increase.
The work schedule is six days a week. The workday begins at 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an hour for lunch — barn check required on a weekly rotational basis. Housing is provided for a single individual. Salary to be determined based on experience and paid bi-monthly. There is an opportunity available to earn extra compensation doing other tasks for the owner.
