From Andrea – Hi Everyone! I thought I should make a post since I’m alive and kicking! It’s a miracle and I thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. The doctors and the staff here at Froedert are amazing. I’m in minimal pain and am totally with it. Very tired but moving around more and more each day. I should be out of here by the 26th. This was a crazy experience and definitely life changing. Don’t take what you have for granted. You just never know what can happen where. I’m so lucky I wasn’t home alone and that I had my good friends Gina Safro Resch, Jenna Mueller, and Darci Hudders Hicks at the gym to help me. I can’t thank Tony enough for countless hours of rubbing my back and literally spoon feeding me when I was too nauseous to raise my head. Quinn Silloway is rocking it away at home taking care of all the cleaning, dogs, and kids. Thank you to Tiffany Jeannine Smalkoski and Kerri Fechner Tomasicyk who came in the darkest scariest hours. I knew you were both there with me….sorry if I kicked either of you….I can thank Kyle Lange for the kicking strength. One of the reasons they say I’m doing so well is due to my physical condition which is all from him and a little bit from Kris Walter too and lastly my mom, dad, Bob, and Lexy Foss for spending time with me. I love you all and I will be back to full force in no time!
NEW UPDATE- January 19, 2018 – From Andrea’s husband, Tony Foss: She is totally with it, knows everything and everyone. Got to put on normal pajamas, shower and brush her hair which is nice. Recovering fast and everything is looking great. She’s so strong. No visitors yet but we will let you know.
UPDATE- January 17, 2018 – Close friend Beckie Peskin verified reports that Andrea is now awake, was able to wiggle her toes, and told her husband, Tony, that her throat hurt. These actions appear to be a good sign that she is aware of her surroundings. We will continue to update our readers when more information becomes available.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to longtime AQHA exhibitor Andrea Kengis Foss of Hartford, Wisconsin. Foss was life flighted to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin after suffering an aneurysm.
Andrea’s husband, Tony, posted this on his Facebook page.
“Thank you all so much. Andrea is out of surgery. She had an aneurysm and Froedtert was able to install a coil in her which will save her life and she is stable. We will know the effects of this in a few days. She will be in the hospital a minimum of two weeks. We will know more tomorrow. Modern technology saved my wife today. We are now hoping for a full recovery.”
Andrea is known in the industry as a strong lady, talented rider, and loving mother. Foss was recently one of our reporters during the AQHA World Show where she brilliantly displayed her sense of humor and quick wit. We are praying for a speedy recovery and will update everyone on her status as more information becomes available.
