“Today we lost a man who will never be forgotten. He loved his family, his friends, and his horses,” his daughter, Melissa Zanetti posted on her Facebook page. “He was always quick with a song or an off-color joke, he never stopped surprising us. Rest In Peace, Dad, we’ll miss you!”
Dick Hardy of Sebastopol, California was beloved in the horse community by many. He was known for his jokes and for having a great sense of humor. He was a well-respected horseman and farrier. Dick served on the board of directors of the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Association and as an AQHA and APHA judge.
Friend and AQHA judge Jan Hoskin Hay posted on Facebook, “Your dad was one of my most favorite people. He would always have a funny story (mostly a real life experience of a day in the life of Dick Hardy!) or a joke to share that would make your ribs hurt from laughing. I’ll keep him in my fondest memories and heart forever. You were a true treasure to all that knew you.”
Condolences go out to all his family and friends.
