We are deeply saddened by the passing of a long time Congress ring steward, Kevin Arnold. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
Kevin Francis Arnold, 68, of Lancaster, Ohio, died Thursday, January 19, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 1, 1948, in Marietta, Ohio, to James J. and Mary Maglena McCarty Arnold. Kevin was a 1966 graduate of Warren High School and then enlisted in the Navy, serving our country during Vietnam for four years. He had worked at Ohio Power and Central Ohio Coal Company for many years as a mechanic and retired as a heavy equipment operator. Kevin was a lifetime member of the American Legion and 40 & 8. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, woodworking was an avid Buckeye fan, and was a 4-H horse show judge and ring steward for The All American Quarter Horse Congress for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Dixie Lynn McLaughlin Arnold, whom he married on April 3, 1971; daughter, Heather Arnold Ritchie (Neil) of Lewisville, Ohio; father of Marietta; three brothers, James G. Arnold (Carolyn) of Marietta, Fletcher Arnold (Anita) of Kenna, WV, and Ferris Arnold (Susan) of Marietta; sister, Seri McGraw of Vincent; mother-in-law, Wanda Littler of Waterford; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Kenny and Denise Tobin of Thornville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother; father-in-law, Donald McLaughlin; and step father-in-law, James Littler.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Churchtown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home.
