Our condolences to the family and friends who knew and loved Alissa.
Alissa Marie Trucco, age 29, born October 19, 1987, in Columbus Ohio, passed on November 21, 2016, in Washington, D.C. where she resided. She was a Graduate of Buckeye Valley High School and Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University. Preceded in death by grandparents Larry and Nancy Toronto and loyal dog, Abby. Survived by father, Mark (Elizabeth) Trucco of Delaware, OH; mother, Cynthia (Michael) Pope of La Quinta, CA; sisters, Natalie (Nathan) Gold and Jacqueline (Jason Taliani) Trucco of Delaware OH; nieces, Marin and Evy Gold and Blake Taliani; grandparents Ray and Dolores Trucco of Delaware, OH; many aunts, uncles and cousins and her pup, Lady G.
There are many characteristics that describe Alissa. They include but are certainly not limited to tenacious, personable, compassionate, determined, fun loving, spontaneous, kind hearted, generous, and driven. She was an avid reader and writer. When met with an obstacle, Alissa wouldn’t relent until she got the result she desired. This was evident in many aspects of her life. She was an accomplished equestrian that showed all over the nation and into Canada.
She and her beloved horse, The Snooty Fox, were third in the nation and fifth at the prestigious AQHA Youth World Show. In college, she became the president of OU’s western equestrian team. She took her role seriously and did her best to plan and improve every detail imaginable. It was on her way to one of these horse shows that she stopped at a truck stop in Oklahoma to find one of her dearest companions, her faithful dog, Lady G. From this point forward, they were inseparable. Alissa trained her pup in flyball and agility. Her truckstop dog out-performed many top competitors.
Her numerous travels gave Alissa the opportunity to leave an impact on people far and wide. Her family and friends will remember her as a self-proclaimed “Aunt of the Year,” Christmas cookie baker extraordinaire, and homemade gift giver. She was a planner of cookouts, family gatherings and vacations that will be cherished forever. Alissa touched the lives of so many during her time on Earth. Heaven’s gain is a loss that will be felt by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8pm at the Maeder-Quint & Tiberi Funeral Home, 1068 S. High Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Wednesday at St. Mary Church, 82 East William Street, Delaware OH. Additional viewing one half hour before Mass time at the Church. Burial, Resurrection Cemetery. Fr.
