Letter from Betty Wells:
Since 2009, we have held the Jerry Wells Memorial Scholarship Futurity at the Redbud Spectacular in Oklahoma City, Okla. We have awarded 12 scholarships to the Oklahoma Junior Quarter Horse Association Youth donations from 2008 and 10% of the entry fees from the futurity.
After 16 years, I have decided to sell my house and downsize and try and move forward. This is going to be a very emotional and trying time for me, and I know I can not devote the time into the futurity that I want and need to this year. I want to take one year off and come back bigger and better in 2017!
I could not have done this Futurity without our presenting sponsors. I want to personally thank all of you, as friends of Jerry, that donated money, items and your time to make this all possible. I want to thank Rob Young and his staff at Northwest Insurance of Purcell, Okla for getting the futurity off the ground and putting in two years of his time to make this possible.
A big thank you to the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association of which I am so very proud to serve as a director, the World Conformation Horse Association of which am so proud to be a founding member, and especially Nova Boyd of Purcell,Okla. (director OQHA) that has been there helping me with everything that needed to be done.
Other members of the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association and all of you that have helped to make all of this possible I want to thank you so much. There is not enough room to name everyone but know that I thank each and every one of you.
I know that God is in control and have put all my faith in Him, and know he will show me the way and I WILL BE BACK!
