Magnuson Farm, LLC of Chaska, Minnesota is excited to announce the hiring of Derek Maynard as their new farm trainer and broodmare manager.
“I’ll be training all the show horses at the farm in Chaska,” Derek told us. “I’ll also be in charge of all the yearlings and preparing them for the major futurities and getting them ready to sell.”
Throughout the year, Maynard will be showing at quarter shows including the All-American Quarter Horse Congress and AQHA World Show. He will also be helping to promote Lorretta and Gretta Magnuson’s stallions, The Rock and Always Seymour.
“I enjoy the pleasure horses a lot and find it a great challenge. So, I couldn’t pick a better place to work,” Maynard states. “Having the backing of Magnuson Farm and their upcoming stallion, The Rock, I couldn’t ask for a better blessing.”
Maynard has been involved in the quarter horse industry ever since he was 14 years-old. From there, he started riding with Joni Naas and Craig Nelson and then went on to work for some of the industry’s top pleasure trainers including; Bret and Candy Parrish, and Jim and Heather Chafin.
