The National Snaffle Bit Association held its annual membership meeting on Wednesday during the All American Quarter Horse Congress, which included election of 2015-16 officers and setting goals for the coming year. Outgoing president David Dellin recapped the programs and activities of the association that occurred during his term, including the successful NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity, the NSBA Kaplow Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale and the Breeders Championship Futurity and Stallion Incentive Fund licensing programs.
Dellin also touched on the legacy of the rule changes instituted last year that explained the hierarchy of judging with correctness, quality of movement and degree of difficulty, and noted that he sees improvement in performance within the industry.
Allen Mitchels was installed as the 2015-2016 president with the official passing of the gavel by David Dellin. He outlined goals for his term that include working to keep NSBA’s successful programs strong, increasing communication with the membership, working to ensure that judging is upheld to a gold standard as well as developing programs to enhance the association’s involvement with all around classes. He also noted that the board is pursuing potential venues and dates for the 2016 Riders Cup event.
Following the election of officers, Bill Cosentino was elected President-Elect. Other officers include First Vice President Susan Johns, Second Vice President Chris Darnell, Treasurer Scott Myers and Secretary Scott Neuman.
