WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association on Tuesday announced its 2015-16 preseason rankings, as determined by the NCEA Selection Committee.
Georgia, the 2015 NCEA runner-up and defending Southeastern Conference Champion, is the nation’s No. 1 team in the preseason. South Carolina, the 2015 NCEA National Champion, checks in at No. 2.
The Gamecocks claimed their third overall national title this past April. Baylor – the defending Big 12 Champion – and Auburn, both national semifinalists a year ago, are ranked No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, while United Equestrian Conference Champion Fresno State checks in at No. 5. Oklahoma State is ranked No. 6, while Texas A&M is No. 7. TCU (No. 8), SMU (No. 9) and New Mexico State (No. 10) round out the preseason top-10.
The 2016 NCEA Championship will take place April 14-16 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
