Champion Fund Challenge Launches at NSBA World

In an effort to expand the operation of the programs of the NSBA Foundation, the NSBA Foundation will be hosting the 1st ever CHAMPION FUND CHALLENGE at its 10th annual World Championship Show August 8-15 in Tulsa, OK.

A “Wall of Champions” will document cash gifts to the Foundation from $1-$250 with potential to raise $20,000 at the 9 day event. Donors are able to choose an amount and make an unrestricted cash gift to provide overall support to the CHAMPION FUND which supports all the programs of the NSBA Foundation, including Equestrians with Disabilities, Trainers Crisis Fund, Youth Scholarships, Heroes on Horses and Animal Welfare Fund programs.

The NSBA Foundation Champion Fund is designed to offset new program startup costs, administrative expenses or financial shortfalls in programmatic efforts that are currently not covered in the special project status.

2015 saw a large programmatic addition of the Equestrians with Disabilities program, supported by the NSBA Foundation, to be offered at the All American Quarter Horse Congress through 2017. In addition, plans for expansion of the Heroes on Horses programs to recognize our military service men and women who utilize horseback riding with our breed affiliates in the coming year is much anticipated. Grants to support Equestrians with Disabilities to attend and compete at the World Championship Show total in excess of $10,000 annually and the Foundation hopes to expand these efforts in 2016 and beyond.

NSBA Foundation Board Vice President, Rebecca Hogan of Chepota Ranch in Weatherford, TX stated “having an unrestricted fundraising event, allows the Board to utilize these generous gifts to serve the best needs of all NSBA members. Combining this with our Annual Silent Auction at the World Show allows people to participate, have some fun and challenge their friends and colleague’s no matter what the level of their participation and in a variety of ways.”

Operating under a separate board of directors, the NSBA Foundation serves as the fiduciary arm of the National Snaffle Bit Association and provides funding to support the efforts of the Association through programming specific to the equine industry and the NSBA membership. The NSBA Foundation is a registered 501(c) (3) organization.

Donations of any size can be made simply by using this PayPal link, calling the NSBA Office at (847) 623-6722 or by stopping by the Show Office during the World Show.
