Condolences to Ruth Ellen on Passing of Fritzee

GoHorseShow is heartbroken to report the passing of Ruth Ellen’s beloved dog, Fritzee. Fritzee was a rescue that she adopted in August of 2012 who went on to become a therapy dog and rescue dog ambassador. Because of Fritzee, Ruth Ellen was inspired to form The Paws Cause which holds adoption events at horse shows throughout the year. Last year, The Paws Cause held adoption events at shows including the AQHYA World Show and over 70 dogs found new homes in its first year.

“Fritzee was the reason why I became so passionate about helping dogs find new homes,” Ellen told GoHorseShow. “Fritzee went everywhere with me and was the happiest dog on the planet. Fritzee was the best horse show dog because she made everyone smile. She was always in second gear (no walking for her) and always had an expression of sheer joy on her face. Fritzee’s fashion statements were all a part of being an advocate for dog rescue and adoption.”

Fritzee was buried next to Ruth Ellen’s outstanding mare, Escapist at JS Quarter Horses in Aubrey, Texas. Understandably, Ruth Ellen is devastated and we send our condolences to her during this difficult time. The horse show community has shown an outpouring of love to Ruth on Facebook by using the keyword #pawsforfritzeefritzee ruth ellen
