Debby Brehm Purchases A Certain Luxury

We would like to congratulate Debby Brehm of Lincoln, Nebraska on the purchase of A Certain Luxury. The 2005 bay mare is by Certain Potential and out of Luxury Goods and will be under the guidance of Rusty and Katie Green. This year, Brehm says that she plans on showing “Cupcake” in Select Amateur Western Pleasure and Amateur Performance Mares.

“I have loved this horse since I first saw her as a three year-old,” says new owner, Debby Brehm. “I am a halter person and she has beautiful conformation as well as being a gorgeous mover. She is one of my all-time favorite pleasure mares, and I always enjoyed watching the Kails show her at the large shows.”

On March 27th, Rusty Green and Debby Brehm flew to Kail Quarter Horses in Scottsdale, Arizona and tried her out. “She was a dream to ride and Rusty and I bought her on the spot,” Debby states. Brehm says that Cupcake may also be shown in the Senior Western Pleasure, Open Performance Mares and maybe Western Riding. “My halter trainer Denny Hassett has already jumped at the chance to show her in the Open Performance Mares at the AQHA World Show.”

Brehm adds, “I’m so thankful to the Kails for allowing me to purchase Cupcake, and I am excited that the trainers I have are excited to show her as well. I think 2015 will be a great year.”

With former owner, Cindy Tollefson, A Certain Luxury won the Level 1 Amateur Western Pleasure class at the 2014 AQHA Novice West Championships held in Las Vegas. The team was also sixth in the performance halter mares. Cupcake has also made the finals and placed in the Top 10 at the AQHA World show in Western Pleasure multiple times.

“As far as A Certain Luxury goes, she is one of our all-time favorites,” Debbie Kail states. “The perfect combination of beauty, a great mind, and an awesome performer in the show pen. She has been great fun to have the past seven years. Cupcake is known for snoring like a truck driver and eating ice cream cones. She has been a joy to have and spoil. We look forward to cheering Debby on and hopefully see little Cupcake babies in the future.”

Up until this point, Cupcake has never had an embryo flushed. “We might try to do that next year,” Brehm says. “But this year, all I want is to get in the show pen!”
