WQHA Boasts Expanded Facility for 2015 Shows

A statewide effort saw two pavilions added to the Alliant Energy Center Campus, home to three Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association shows.

By Tara Matsler of The American Quarter Horse Journal
Two new pavilions have opened at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, the host site to three Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association shows in 2015. The New Holland Pavilions are the latest addition to the Alliant Energy Center Campus. “These multi-use indoor facilities, which total 290,000 square feet, have replaced the nine former agricultural barns and make Alliant Energy Center an industry leader in agricultural shows,” said Mark Clarke, Alliant Energy Center executive director. “With 7,900 square feet of pre-function area for banquets and receptions, a 90,000-square-foot heated and a 200,000-square-foot indoor pavilion, the New Holland Pavilions can accommodate a variety of events from agricultural shows, to flat shows, trade shows, and more.”
The facility will host three Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association shows in 2015, including:
• Lazy Days Circuit, May 13-17
• Cap Gun Circuit, June 17-21
• WQHA State Shows, September 3-7
“These new pavilions really show the cooperation it took among many interested partners– the Midwest Horse Fair, Wisconsin Horse Council, World Dairy Expo, Centerplate Catering, BouMatic, and New Holland Agriculture– and how the state, county and other donors came together to make it happen,” Clarke added.
