The spring show season is underway and that means exhibitors are enjoying their American Quarter Horses, with many focusing on qualifying for the 2014 Bank of America Amateur and AQHA Open World Championship Show. As of March 31, there are 2,102 qualifiers – 1,058 amateur and 1,044 open – for more than 90 events at what’s considered the American Quarter Horse industry’s most prestigious event.
The 2014 AQHA World Show is tentatively scheduled for November 7-22 in Oklahoma City. The qualifying period began August 1, 2013, and concludes July 31, 2014. The list of points needed for each class, along with information about other qualifying procedures, can be found at www.aqha.com/worldshow.
Exhibitors can determine qualifying status by logging in to AQHA Member Services at www.aqhamembers.org.You can alsofind a list of upcoming shows on that website. A listing of shows can also be found in the latest edition of The American Quarter Horse Journal.
The AQHA World Show entry deadline for qualifiers is September 15.
