Dr. Ray Randall to Serve on WEG Veterinary Commission in France

Dr. Ray Randall will serve as part of the veterinary commission for jumping, dressage, reining, and vaulting for the 2014 Federation Equestrian International (FEI) World Equestrian Games. Held in the Normandy region of France, the 2014 World Equestrian Games (WEGs) will showcase eight FEI disciplines: combined driving, dressage, endurance riding, eventing, paraequestrianism, reining, show jumping, and vaulting. At the 2010 Games, 57 countries were represented by 800 people and their horses, and it is expected that those numbers will increase in 2014.

Dr. Randall has officiated at FEI endurance events across the United States as well as Canada, Japan, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, France, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Egypt. He has served as an FEI representative at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games, the USEF National Reining Championships, the President’s Cup in Portugal, the FEI European Championship, the Tevis Cup North American Championships, the Pan-Am World Games, as well as other endurance and performance-horse events too numerous to mention.

In addition to heading a thriving veterinary practice in Bridger, Montana, Dr. Randall was an Assistant Professor of Equestrian Studies at Rocky Mountain College for over 20 years. He taught preventative medicine and reproduction courses as well as making regular barn appearances to help students learn and practice better preventative care for their horses. He lives with his wife, Marilyn, in Bridger, Montana. When he is not at an endurance ride or out irrigating, he can often be found singing duets with his Aussie Shepherd copilot, Ruby.

Bridger Veterinary Clinic is a mixed-animal practice 45 minutes south of Billings in Bridger, Montana. Headed by Dr. Ray Randall since 1975, the practice has a specific focus on performance horses, equine reproduction, cattle, and herd but with the odd buffalo or mountain lion thrown in for good measure. Dr. Sasha Pfotenhauer and Dr. Christopher Banks joined the practice in 2013 to provide additional focus to both cattle and horses, allowing the practice to better serve its south-central Montana and northern Wyoming communities.
