First report–November 25, 2013–We are saddened to report that the much-loved AQHA exhibitor, Kathy Hunt was killed in an auto accident near Gallup, New Mexico on Saturday. Kathy and her husband Tom were returning home to Clovis, California from the AQHA World Show in Oklahoma City when they encountered bad weather and were unable to avoid a semi truck that had wrecked in the road.
Hunt was an avid Pleasure Driving exhibitor. She and her gray mare, Skys Moon Pie, were named the 2009 Select AQHA World Champion in Pleasure Driving.
Good friend and fellow California exhibitor, Christine Hocutt-Senteney was one of many friends who have left messages for Hunt on her facebook page.
Christine wrote Sunday, “I am at a loss for words. You are such a special person with the kindest heart and the best sense of humor. I will miss your emails and our chats and will certainly miss you at the shows. Heaven has just gained the sweetest angel. God must have needed you even though we weren’t ready for you to leave. I love you.”
Our condolences to Kathy’s family and friends.
