GoHorseShow is sad to announce the passing of Invest In A Hot Star who was euthanized on Saturday due to an unforeseen injury sustained while being turned out. We send our condolences to multiple AQHA World Champion trainer Leslie Lange of Greeley, Colorado along with her husband, Tom, on his passing while also dealing with massive flooding at their Colorado farm.
Leslie Lange posted on her facebook page late Saturday night, “RIP Invest In A Hot Star – 9/21/13. I hope your crossing over the rainbow bridge was peaceful and you are out of pain. See you on the other side and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life. We love you!!!”
The 1999 chestnut stallion was by Blazing Hot and out of Sheza Big Spender who is by Starrific. The Lange’s purchased him almost exactly a year ago at the Rita Crundwell sale for $57,000.
He amassed over 500 points in the trail, western riding, western pleasure, horsemanship and halter. He also received his superiors in the western riding and western pleasure and AQHA Performance Championship; as well as multiple top 10 placings at the AQHA World Show. He was also a two-time high point pleasure champion.
“When I showed him for Rita, he was great minded and super talented,” says Lange, who also owns and stands the stallion, The Immortal.
We would also like to send our condolences to Lange’s assistant trainer, Jeff Burley, who lost his foal, Sebastian, Saturday due to complications resulting from the colt being trapped in the flood waters.
