Carolyn Fleming Smith, of Plano, Texas, passed away on June 28, 2013 at the age of 70. She was born April 14, 1943, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to O.L. “Jack” and Doris (Howard) Fleming. On May 21, 1966, Carolyn married Larry Fain Smith in Richardson, Texas. She graduated from Texas Western University, now known as the University of Texas at El Paso, in 1966, with a degree in Education; she was a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Carolyn was a member of Unity Church in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Smith of Plano, Texas; daughter, Adria Smith of Celina, Texas; brother, Jim Fleming of Canutillo, Texas; and many loving friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Doris Fleming. Jack was a former POW of WWII and received The Purple Heart.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas, with Dr. Danny Buster officiating.
