The Nutrena AQHA East Novice Championship Show is slated for October 1-6 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and the SmartPak AQHA West Novice Championship Show is scheduled for October 2-6 in Las Vegas.
“There is still time left for exhibitors on the verge of qualifying for the Novice Championships to complete the qualification process,” said Patti Carter-Pratt, AQHA executive director of shows. “Hundreds of summer shows have recently been added to the AQHA show schedule. We want to encourage exhibitors to visit the online show calendar, which will help them locate the show nearest them.”

The qualifying period for the 2013 Novice Championships runs from May 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013. Three qualifying options exist for exhibitors seeking an invitation to the 2013 Novice championship shows:
- Show at 20 shows in a Novice class,
- Place in the top 10 in a Novice class at an AQHA Regional Championship show, or
- Qualify through the exhibitor’s state/provincial affiliate
