Help Horse Family in Need after Tragedy

Thirty-eight year-old, Chad Craig, who was a farrier, father, and husband, sadly passed away after a tragic accident on his ranch, March 14th. He leaves behind his wife, Cheyanne, and their two beautiful twins, Cash and Oakley. Chad worked in the Midwest area as a farrier and his wife, Cheyanne, is a trainer at their ranch, Timber Ridge Training Center in Davis, Ilinois. A Benefit Auction and Memorial Fund has been set up for Chad’s Family.

Chad L. Craig, 38 of Davis passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital after a tragic accident on the farm. Born September 7, 1974 in Geneseo he was the son of Joseph and Linda (Leonard) Craig. He was a graduate of Galva High School, Blackhawk Community College and the Midwest Horseshoeing School in Macomb. 

On November 17, 2006 he and Cheyanne Harbison were united in marriage. Chad was extremely proud of his twins Cash and Oakley and loved spending time with his family. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix and enjoyed all outdoor activities especially camping, horses, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He also had a passion for team roping. 

Chad owned and operated CLC Horseshoeing and Timber Ridge Ranch Training Center. His memberships included Durand Ditch Riders Snowmobile Club, American Buckskin Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. 

He is survived by his wife and twins of Davis, father and stepmother Joseph (Kathy) Craig of Galva; very special grandmother Kathryn Leonard of Galesburg; mother-in-law and father-in-law Penny and Lee Harbison of Davis; a brother Curtis (Heather) Craig and their daughter Makayla of Galva; a sister Crystal (Andy Wheeler) Craig and their daughter Lizzy Wheeler of Seaton; stepsister Kristen (Justin) Williams of Wyoming, IL; a brother-in-law Chad (Tricia) Harbison and their daughter Haley of Belvidere. 

Preceding him in death were his mother, grandfather Lawrence Leonard, grandmother Marie Craig and grandfather Milan Craig.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm until 7pm at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Dakota. Funeral service will be 12:30 pm Monday at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Wright officiating. Burial will be at the Ridott Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name.
