AQHA Professional Horseman and judge Robin Frid of Denton, Texas, talked about judging horsemanship using the new AQHA scoring system this week in a demonstration at the 2012 All American Quarter Horse Congress. College students competing in the Intercollegiate Judging Tournament paid particular attention to the demonstration to glean last-minute tips before heading out to the show pen to compete.
The new horsemanship scoring system and score sheet was developed, “to judge all competitors in a very competitive event fairly,” Robin explained, “AQHA is working hard to create a scoring system specifically for horsemanship so that riders get feedback on what the judge was thinking.”
