Horse Training on a Loose Rein

When it comes to riding on a loose rein, many amateurs think they must steer the horse with their legs all of the time. That’s a misconception. The leg is not a steering wheel; your hand is. But if a horse is trained to be responsive to that rein and move off it without you having to take hold of him, then you can steer him and put him anywhere you want.
