Colorado Show Postponed Due to Wildfires

Due to the proximity of wildfires, the Colorful Colorado Horse Show,
scheduled for June 14-17 in Loveland, Colorado, is postponed.

Due the fires in the northern part of Colorado, the Colorful Colorado Horse Show, scheduled for June 14-17 at The Ranch facility in Loveland, Colorado, is postponed. The Ranch became the command center for the region in its firefighting efforts against wildfires in the area. This is a Type 1 Federal Emergency (the same federal emergency level as Hurricane Katrina had been), and all Larimer County resources are required to be devoted to this operation. More families and animals had to be evacuated on June 11, and the facilities were required to manage the influx of homeless.

Despite Excel Associates’ best efforts to adapt quickly, the show management cannot overcome all the obstacles in front of them in relocating the AQHA, Appaloosa Horse Club and International Buckskin Horse Association shows to an alternate location: Colorado Springs.

The Colorful Colorado show vendors, facilities, lodging and shavings companies, and more, in both Loveland and Colorado Springs, have worked diligently to help Excel Associates work everything out in a short time frame. However, Excel Associates continued to see their stall numbers drop with the proposed move, to the point that it was not financially feasible to go forward with the show. The show is cancelled. Excel Associates extends its sincerest apologies for the impact this cancellation has on its show constituents.

The decision to reschedule this show will be made in the next few weeks. Refunds will be mailed in the next two weeks – no request necessary. If competitors (who had pre-entered the show) do not receive their refund by July 6, please notify Excel Associations. Excel Associates wishes the best for their northern neighbors who are battling this catastrophe. If you have any questions, call Excel Associates at (303) 828-3822 or e-mail at info@excelshows.com.
