APHA Offers Historic Registration Certificates

To commemorate the association’s 50th anniversary, American Paint Horse Association (APHA) members can now get a retro-style reproduction of the Certificate of Registration for any registered Paint Horse, complete with APHA’s 50th anniversary logo and hand-colored likeness of the horse.

APHA is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012, and has now registered over one million horses. Before the advent of modern technology, each and every one of the first 69,000 registration certificates issued had the horse’s coat markings painstakingly hand-colored by APHA staff. Today, certificates have the horse’s photos digitally attached to the document.

The historic reproduction certificates are a nod back to the days when the horse’s markings were detailed on the document by hand. The horse markings on the head, right and left sides of the body are detailed on the commemorative certificate. The 50th Anniversary logo and golden APHA seal complete the celebratory keepsake.

The certificates can be purchased framed, with a choice of two frame styles including a pewter APHA logo medallion, or unframed. The frame style choices are either contemporary with dark cherry wood or classic with scrolling weathered wood.

The commemorative certificates are available through December 31, 2012, by contacting the APHA Registration Department. To order, call (817) 222-6425 or email at [email protected].
