GoHorseShow found out from Alex Marlow's trainer, Reid Thomas
of Corpus Christi, Texas, that Alex not only won SEVEN World
Championship titles but she also won the Novice Youth All Around and
Reserve 13 & U All Around at the APHA Youth World Show. Thomas sent
us a special message that he would like to share with everyone about
this special team.
When Sarayah Vorhees, her sister Shay Lynn and her mom Elizabeth left the Pinto World on June 18 they felt very optimistic about the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show. The two sisters had tremendous wins at Pinto and were mounted on two of their best show horses. They were ready to win at the AjPHA World Show in Sarayah’s final year as a Youth.
Without a doubt, Taylor Prince and One Flashy Sensation had a sensational 2011 AjPHA World Show. This was the last World Show the Las Vegas resident would ever attend as a Youth, and she made the most of it with her 2005 sorrel overo mare "Mel."
Jog- and lope-overs abounded in the 2011 AjPHA World Show Youth Trail 14–18 finals course, challenging riders and horses alike. Devon, Delaware, native Taylor Dixon rose to the challenge aboard 2005 sorrel overo gelding My Sensational Cookie, capturing her first world championship with the horse she's owned since January.
At the 2011 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show that is being held right now in Fort Worth, the youth are showcasing their talent in 73 world-title classes in a full array of disciplines. The Association received over 1,284 class entries, and World championship titles have already been awarded in a full range of classes. Thank you to 14-18 youth exhibitor, Paige Stawicki for the huge number of candids!
Seventeen year-old Abigail Pait of Sparta, New Jersey was recently elected the new AQHYA President continuing a family legacy in the horse industry. Find out more about her background and her plans to help increase the youth membership and get more youth involved in the industry.
When friends Madeline (Mattie) Alewine of Buckeye, Arizona, and Emily Metler of Litchfield Park, Arizona, loaded up to head to the World Show, they didn’t bring along what is usually an essential piece of their support group—their trainer.
The Youth Hunt-Seat Equitation 14–18 finals pattern was difficult. Calli Rouse of Langley, British Columbia, Canada, and her 2007 bay overo mare Chansation sailed through the class, capturing the pair’s second world championship and besting barn mate Taylor Prince. The Paint Horse Journal caught up with Calli after her win. Read on to hear about her dream ride.
The Oregon Quarter
Horse Association’s Oregon Summer Classic ran from June 20-26 and
GoHorseShow.com has great candids and results from the show. Thank you to horse
show mom, Jami Salamone of Scottsdale Arizona and youth exhibitor,
Lauren Crivelli of Visalia, California for the Kruzer Candids.
It’s that time of year again in Mississippi. The heat is thick--you can breath it.. You can feel the dampness of the southern humidity against your skin, and the horses relax in the Mississippi heat, all signaling it's time for the 2011 Southern Belle Invitation.
