Horse trainer Dave Miller of Oneco, Connecticut has a cautionary tale for all trainers out there. After the Last Chance Super Quarter Horse Show in Buffalo, New York, one of his green hunters spooked in the trailer and broke the rubber bungee cord that tied the horse inside the trailer.

Mitch Leckey and Unique Fashion won the $200,000 Three Year Old Novice Horse Breeders Western Pleasure Saturday night at the Southern Belle Invitation beating 25 other horses. The winner, ridden by Leckey, is by RL Best Of Sudden and out of Ginnie Mae Flash. We would also like to congratulate the Medows family of Cuba, Missouri for owning this newly crowned champion.

The Southern Belle Invitation is held Tunica, Mississippi from July 13-17. Year after year, The Southern Belle is considered one of the top futurity shows in the country led by Connie Hill, Mike Coggin and Chris Cecil.  The Southern Belle is known for its great exhibitor's party.  Be sure to check out all the candids courtesy of Holt Pope and Chelsea Turner. 
 

Carolyn Rice of Somis, California is quite possibly one of the most underrated horse trainers in our industry. Her daughter, Parris Rice, is a two-time AQHYA World Champion in the Equitation and Danielle Long and Maggie McCrady, are past AQHA World Champions in Horsemanship. Rice's hard work and determination is starting to get noticed, and we wanted to find out what advice she has for exhibitors wanting to be competitive in the Equitation at the major shows.
