GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Stephanie Willsey of Canada for purchasing Must Be A Detail (Stewie) from the Papendick’s of South Dakota. The 2002 bay gelding by Last Detail is a 10-time Congress and 11-time World Champion. Stewie has also accumulated over 800 points in the english events and western riding. Willsey rides with Highpoint Performance Horses, so she’s had the honor of admiring Stewie pretty closely since May 2009.
“Everyone in the barn knows he’s my dream horse,” Stephanie tells GoHorseShow. “My parents will be the first to tell you that every birthday and Christmas since I can remember, I’ve always asked for Stewie–so much so that when people heard we had bought him many of my friends called to congratulate me knowing this really was a longtime dream come true.”
Former owner Kerry Papendick says, “This is Stephanie’s last year in youth. She’s quite the hard worker and has always loved Stewie, so we are really excited for her!”
The 18 year-old will be showing Stewie in the Hunter Under Saddle and Western Riding. Stewie is also very talented over fences, and Stephanie said she would also love to learn the Hunter Hack. “I will continue to show my other horse, Ima Moxie Man, who I just got this past summer from Tiina Volmer, in the all-around events too,” she says. “I can’t wait for the upcoming show season. I think it’s going to be a really fun year –I’m really looking forward to showing both horses.”
Highpoint trainer Beth Case adds, “She’s a really good rider and works her butt off, so she deserves a horse like him.”
