GoHorseShow.com is happy to report that the great mare, Only Yours, has been purchased by Bill Cosentino of Omaha, Nebraska. The mare is for one of his twin daughters, Beth, to show in her last year of youth.
Only Yours (Betty) was purchased by the Cosentino family right after Ryan Small’s great success at the Congress. Ryan and Betty swept both of his classes at the Congress: the NYATT Western Pleasure and the 15-18 Western Pleasure. They also received a Bronze trophy this year at the AQHYA World Show and a Reserve World Championship last year in the western pleasure.
“She is such a great, phenomenal mare,” former owner Faith Small told GoHorseShow. “She couldn’t fall out of frame if she tried. She is so effortless in her movement, and she taught me what a good pleasure horse is supposed to move like. She is the standard that I compare all other horses to–we loved her dearly and will miss her.”
Bill Cosentino explains to GoHorseShow that when 2010 Amateur Select World Champion, Gloin From Chocolate, passed away last year that he started thinking of another mare to replace her and immediately thought of Only Yours. Cosentino said that he inquired whether she was for sale, and was told at that time that she wasn’t available. However, just recently, Cosentino heard she was for sale, and purchased her at the Congress.
“I has always liked her because she seemed like a great minded mare and a great mover which is hard to come by,” Bill says. “We are so excited and the Small family was great to work with purchasing Betty. My daughter tried her out and seemed to get along with her really well.”
The Cosentino’s are under the guidance of Shane Dowdy, and he will be showing Only Yours in the Junior Western Pleasure at the upcoming AQHA World Show.
The 2006 sorrel mare is by Invitation Only and out of Betcha Bite A Chip. She was bred by Stanley and Susan Scott of Ocala, Florida and received superiors in both the Youth and Open Western Pleasure.
We wish the Cosentino’s nothing but the best with their new horse and wish Beth good luck in her final year of youth showing Betty.
