Tulsa, Oklahoma – July 15, 2010 – Palomino Horse Breeders of America is pleased to announce that they have negotiated a new agreement with Expo Square to move our dates for the 2011 and 2012 Palomino Youth and Open World Shows. PHBA and Expo Square have partnered for the last 26 years to hold the Palomino World shows in PHBA’s home city of Tulsa, OK.
In 2009, the World show continued to be profitable partly because of Expo Square’s willingness to assist PHBA in finding ways to reduce costs. Ken Beasley, PHBA’s Secretary/Treasurer stated, “In today’s economy, it is vital to have partnerships and working relationships that have a win-win mindset. The staff at Expo Square was committed to assisting us last year and as evidenced by this new agreement, they are committed for years to come.” PHBA’s new dates for 2011 are: Youth World Show – July 19-24, 2011 and World Show – July 25-30.
The 2012 dates are: Youth World Show – July 24-27, 2012 and World Show – July 29-August 4, 2012
The new dates and agreement will allow PHBA to continue its longstanding tradition of having Expo Square host their World Shows as well as allow Expo Square to add another prestigious World Show to their repertoire of horse events.
Expo Square CEO Mark Andrus said, “We value our relationship with PHBA and worked very hard to accommodate a new agreement that allows them to continue showing at Expo Square. We are excited to begin negotiations on a new contract to continue hosting PHBA’s World Shows for years to come.”
This year’s Palomino World show is already larger than last years, marking the first time in many years that the number of horses exceeded the previous year’s show. With the support of its membership and partners like Expo Square, the Palomino World Shows look to be turning the corner and back on track to growing.
